21-year-old Daniel James has had lots of speculation about him over the past few weeks, drawing lots of interest from English giants Manchester United.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer kicked off his Manchester United manager status with a great unbeaten streak, pleasing players, fans, and Ed Woodward. However, after their comeback win against Paris Saint-Germain 3-1 in the Champions League quarter finals, the Red Devils failed to string together any back-to-back wins. Solskjaer promised fans that there would be changes in the squad over summer, and just today up to 15 players have been made available for transfers – including Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera.
Nevertheless, the Norwegian completed his first signing of the summer today as the move for Welsh winger has been ‘agreed in principle’ with Championship side Swansea City. James has made 43 appearances for the club – scoring 7 goals – and 2 appearances for the Welsh national team, picking up one goal against Slovakia. At just 21 years of age, he has received a lot of interest from Manchester United over the past few weeks, with an initial deal of £15 million being agreed between the clubs. James will be the first Welshman since Ryan Giggs to play for the club, and is an exciting prospect in Ole’s rebuild of the first team. How will James do at Old Trafford? We’ll have to wait and see!
